How does it work?
Limescale out of the drinking water
Limescale is not harmful to health, but it does have adverse effects on taps, boilers and household appliances. A water softener removes the limescale from your drinking water.
Ion-exchange resins
The hard water flows through a tank with synthetic resin (mono-sphere resins). The tiny resin beads attract the limescale and give back sodium ions: you get water with a hardness of 0° F.
Automatic regeneration
After a set number of litres the resin is saturated and the unit rinses itself with a salt solution (99.8% pure regeneration salt). Calcium and magnesium are exchanged for sodium and the cycle starts again.
Good to know
Less limescale means longer appliance lifespan, less maintenance, fewer cleaning products and soft skin after showering.
