How does it work?
Solar cells generate current
Solar cells consist of two silicon layers. Under the influence of light, an electrical current flows between those layers — hence the name photovoltaic (PV) cells.
The inverter makes it usable
The inverter converts the direct current from the panels into alternating current of 220/230 volts, as your appliances require.
Self-consumption first
Everything you use yourself (hob, fridge, washing machine, lighting) no longer has to be bought from the grid. With a heat pump or air conditioner you raise your self-consumption even further.
Injecting the surplus
Electricity you don't use goes to the grid. Since 2021 there is no more revolving meter in Flanders; your injection is compensated via your supplier. We work out the exact figures for you.
